Surrisa and Sierra
Surrisa (L) one of our 16 foundation Alpacas acquired from Pete and Linda Mihnos pioneers in the Alpaca business.
To her right is Sierra about one week old and quite a distinguished lady. Both mother and daughter are Suris which
comprise about 15% of the Alpaca population in the United States. Pete, a geologist by profession once described
Surrisa as his best Alpaca.
Sophia, the second female born from Surrisa at the ranch was named after Sophia Shane, Investor Relations
person for Bayou Bend Petroleum. Now over one year old, she has been bred and will deliver a cria in about
ten months. Surrisa's first cria at the ranch was Josh's Surprise, a male about two years old presently.
